My dog walker usually takes care of my "girl" Suzi-q when we go out of town. She is the best and Suze LOVES her. The dates of our upcoming vacation, unfortunately, finds her busy on her own vacation. What to do?? Panic set in.
I remember seeing this place a few months ago and decided to check it out. Good boarding within the city is tricky to find. Village Gate is a dog daycare, kennel, veterinarian, etc., etc. I took an impromptu tour the other day. It was SPOTLESS and smell free. The runs are huge and, in addition to just boarding your dog, they can partake in the daycare activities during their stay. It is a wonderful facility.
I took my dog for a day visit to see if she liked it. She's a bit neurotic (one of those nervous small dogs) and she looked great when she came home at the end of the day. These people are caring and absolutely perfect. Weekend dropoff and pickups too. Totally catering to urban lifestyles. I no longer fear my dog's care during our vacations. She is scheduled to stay there in a couple weeks. I'll give my final recommendation when she gets home - I doubt it's going to be anything but perfect.

This store is a chain, however, it has pet care and grooming on weekends. I use this all the time to get my dog a bath and nail trim on Sunday mornings since my job prevents me from going to the vet for these small things. The grooming service opened about a year ago and I believe they still have, for dogs, a nail trim/bath combo by appointment on Sundays.

Toni Sits is owned and operated by Sue and Judy and additional associates per demand. They walk our dog daily (small bladder) at noon and are our most trusted business partner. They have missed exactly 2 calls in 7 years due to weather. They are superwomen! Reliable, friendly, perfect with animals and our dog's second mom.
Services include dog walking, pet visits when you're away, etc. Good rates.
